Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman announced a nationwide strike on August 28, saying that the strike would be against inflation, electricity bills and oppressive taxes.

Amir Jamaat-e-Islami while holding a press conference in Karachi said that (N) League and PPP have sunk the ship of the country, Nawaz Sharif announced the reduction of electricity price in Punjab for 2 months only.

He said that the rulers were forced as a result of Jamaat-e-Islami’s sit-in and pressure, the whole of Pakistan should get the relief of reduction in electricity prices, if electricity can be cheap in Punjab, why not in Sindh.

He said that the federal system runs on taxes collected from Karachi, Karachi pays more than 50% of taxes in Pakistan, why can’t electricity money be reduced here?

Hafiz Naeemur Rahman said that the Sindh government has a budget of 3 thousand, 1895 billion is received from the federal government, but the Sindh government is not ready to give relief.

He said that K Electric mafia makes expensive electricity, K Electric can be taken out of the middle and full electricity can be given to Karachi, no section is happy with expensive electricity and taxes.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman demanded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to reduce inflation and make changes in tariffs, saying that traders and salaried class are all worried, electricity prices should be reduced, the nation will not pay the capacity payments of IPPs. .

He said that currently the economic situation in Pakistan is in front of everyone, the government parties have drowned Pakistan, billions of advertisements are given with our tax money, people are forced to buy LPG.

Amir Jamaat-e-Islami announced a nationwide strike on August 28 and said that today there are 36 days left for the agreement with the government, we will continue to resist and fully implement the agreement.
