New Delhi: A loud explosion near the Israeli embassy in a sensitive area of the Indian capital sent security personnel running.
According to Indian media, Delhi Police surrounded the embassy after the explosion in the sensitive area and shifted the staff to a safe place. No one, including the media, is being given access to the crime scene.
Ambulances are also on hand to deal with any emergency while fire brigade, bomb disposal squad and paramedical staff have also been called.
The explosion was so loud that the whole area reverberated. The windows of cars and buildings parked nearby were broken. The explosion caused panic among the people and they came out of their houses.
The Delhi Police could not find anything suspicious in the vicinity of the Israeli Embassy despite extensive searches. Exhausted, the police team went back. Bomb disposal squad and paramedical staff were also sent back.
Delhi Police says that the staff and the building of the Israeli embassy are completely safe. The nature and contents of the blast are being investigated, but no clue has been found so far.
