Sentence in cipher case, Shah Mahmood Qureshi disqualified for 5 years

The Election Commission of Pakistan disqualified Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi for 5 years.
The Election Commission has issued a notification disqualifying Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
In the notification, Shah Mehmood Qureshi was also declared ineligible for the general elections 2024.
It has been said in the notification that Shah Mehmood Qureshi was convicted of the crime by a special court constituted under the Official Secrets Act.
According to the notification, the court has sentenced Shah Mehmood Qureshi to 10 years of imprisonment with hard labor and disqualified him under Article 63 1H of the Constitution.
The notification states that Shah Mehmood Qureshi is also disqualified under Election Act 232 and his disqualification period will be 5 years.
It should be noted that the special court established under the Official Secrets Act recently sentenced Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi to 10 years in prison in the cipher case.
