As the country is all set to head to February 8 polls, various political parties have ramped up campaigning in a bid to woo voters and secure victory with a huge margin against their rivals.
While the successive general elections have witnessed lower voter turnout, some candidates including former premier Imran Khan were among the winners who clinched seats by securing the highest number of votes in the 2018 general elections.
Candidates who secured the highest number of voters
In the 2018 general elections, Chaudhry Shaukat Ali Bhatti, representing PTI, emerged victorious with the highest number of votes, receiving 165,835 votes in NA-87 constituency.
Cricketer-turned-politician and PTI founder Imran Khan took part in the 2018 elections from NA-95, where he secured 165,518 votes — the second-highest among all candidates.
PTI candidate Tahir Sadiq vied in the 2018 elections from NA-56, securing 164,178 votes and becoming the third-highest vote-getter.
PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal contested from NA-78 and secured 160,020 votes against rival PTI’s candidate Abrar ul Haq in 2018 elections.
The PML-Q leader Parvez Elahi ran in the 2018 elections from the NA-65 constituency and secured as many as 158,477 votes.
Amjid Ali Khan, also a PTI candidate secured 158,191 votes in the 2018 elections from NA-96.
Another PTI candidate, Zulfiqar Ali Khan, became the seventh-highest vote achiever by securing 155,598 votes in the 2018 elections from the NA-64 constituency.
Shams un Nisa, a female PPP candidate, contested polls from NA-232 constituency, securing 152,700 votes in the 2018 elections.
Nasir Iqbal Bosal bagged 147,394 votes in NA-86 from PML-N’s ticket in the 2018 general elections.
PML-N leader Hamza Shahbaz Sharif got 146,306 votes from the NA-124 constituency in the 2018 general elections.
