Trump or Biden? Who is Musk donating to in US presidential election

Tech giant Elon Musk Wednesday denied reports about him donating money to either Trump or Donald Trump, after reports of his meeting the former president over the weekend.
According to The New York Times, Trump, in a bid to assure financial support for his upcoming re-election campaign, reportedly met Musk in Florida over the weekend.
Tech giant Elon Musk took to X on Wednesday to clarify that he is not donating to any candidate for the Presidential polls in November 2024.
“Just to be super clear, I am not donating money to either candidate for US President,” Musk wrote in the tweet.
According to reports, Trump met Musk and other wealthy Republican donors over the weekend.
The meetings came as Trump looked for financial contributions for his re-election bid in November 2024. Trump is facing financial setbacks from recent judgments in civil fraud and defamation cases.
The objective is to enlist significant contributors to bolster his campaign funds. While Musk’s social media posts suggest opposition to President Joe Biden securing a second term, he has not confirmed any financial assistance for Trump.
Musk, who previously declared himself ‘politically independent’ and voted for Biden in 2020, has since denounced Biden’s actions and rowed with his administration.
Musk’s financial support for Trump could have provided a counterbalance to Biden’s anticipated financial advantage in the 2024 election given his net worth of around $200 billion.
